The 9th of September 2009, a presentation of the SAESup project was held at the China Academy of Building Research (see news HERE). As result of the presentation, the ADRA China was contacted by the China Academy of Building Research, in order to carry out some studies related to the fire resistance of the straw ball buildings. This inclusion in a national research program is very good news for the ADRA’s SBB project. This will give the project a better recognition at the national level and will help them to better understand the straw ball buildings characteristics.

This is a first success for the SAESUp project given that one of its objectives is to build bridges between initiatives and to improve experience sharing between projects.

Besides, some information about straw ball building gathered in Mongolia -such as information related to codes and standards, fire resistance and thermal performances studies, etc- were shared with the ADRA project in China.
